Wasini Island is situated in the Indian Ocean, 3 kilometers off the southeastern coast of Kenya, at a distance of 75 kilometers to the south of Mombasa. It is positioned just 3 kilometers across from the harbor of Shimoni village. This island spans approximately 7 kilometers in length and 3 kilometers in width, and its name, “Wasini Mpunguti,” originates from its early inhabitants.
